Introduction

A new hotel at the heart of Purley

Station Approach Purley Ltd is bringing forward proposals to redevelop the site at Station Approach, adjacent to Purley Railway Station, with a high-quality hotel and active ground-floor uses.

The development will deliver new visitor accommodation, improve the public realm, and provide local economic benefits, including new jobs, increased footfall to local businesses, and a safer, more attractive gateway to Purley.

We are holding a public consultation to invite your feedback on the plans before a planning application is submitted to Croydon Council.

Location and masterplan

The hotel’s main entrance will be off of Station Approach. The proposed building line has been realigned to match the neighbouring plot to the west, providing additional space to the footpath along Whytecliffe Road South. The proposed building has been set further back from Station Approach compared to the existing structures, allowing for additional space to be returned to the public realm and enhanced for public use.
